Hi, I’m Oluwakemi Loriade (Loriade). Born in the USA, I thank my Nigerian father and Cameroonian mother for a meaningful name, valuable career advice, and love of travel. Proud of my origins, I wish to stay close to my roots and want to live and work in Africa. I am a global health and development professional working with a nonprofit and non-governmental organization in Senegal at the moment. I am also a photography enthusiast, fan of Grey’s Anatomy since 2005, and frequent consumer of rice and fried plantain. Additionally, I love everything made with ankara (“African wax print”) as well as (African especially) music and art.
ABOUT THE WEBSITE
This website is a creative outlet and opportunity to share my experience as I encourage others – especially young female professionals – not to settle in the pursuit of a balanced and fulfilling life. I see it as a resource for people who want the same career or lifestyle as me as well as a place to connect with like-minded people.
As a reader, you get to know different parts of my identity and lifestyle as I share my experience, stories, thoughts, advice or tips, lists, and photos.
Considering my story and interests, the content appeals mostly to people interested in living, working or traveling in Africa.
ABOUT WORKING WITH ME OR FEATURING ME IN YOUR PUBLICATION
Having shared aspects of my travel experience with Irin Journal, Visiter L’Afrique and Naija Nomads in the past, I would happily speak to or write for other publications. I also welcome opportunities to collaborate with other bloggers, creatives and businesses so please do not hesitate to contact me.
